In jest, our garden has been called a farmhouse garden with delusions of grandeur.
We live in a courtyard farm from 1860 that we consider to have heritage value, and that is why we wanted to create a traditional farmhouse garden, although with a twist that suits us and our time. We began to create the garden from scratch in 1988, and apart from a couple of old trees and a shrubbery, we have planted everything in the garden, which covers just about 9,000 sq. metres. The garden is split up into a shrubbery, a woodland (begun in 2013), an apple orchard, and kitchen garden in which the delusions of grandeur begin to show in the divisions using beech and box hedges with topiary gateways and vegetables and flowers in the kitchen garden. In addition, there are the compost heaps, the chicken run and the flowery meadow by the summerhouse out to open country.
This is a garden where we protect nature with regard to plants, birds and other animals, we use no pesticides or artificial fertilisers.
In 2015, we were honoured to be acclaimed the prettiest garden of the year on Danish TV2.
